Trust me, you have the power to choose and to change!

So rewarding to see the positive changes in patient’s physical and emotional well-being  in just a week! She’s walking on air as she had told us. We were all surprised to see Sepomia bouncing around in the medical centre. Her doctor asked me, “Viv, what have you done to her?” and other staff members were also wondering because she’s a completely different person! This is what keeps me doing diabetes educator work! I love seeing the dramatic improvement in patient’s life!

Many people had told me that they’ve always been that way or this way so there’s no way they can change. Sepomia was no different. However, after asking her questions and listening to her answers, we’ve discovered where the barriers were, thanks to Sepomia’s honesty and willingness to trust me to help her. We set out a progress goal list and talked about the next steps that she’s happy to take to start with.

We’ve chosen with just adding salad to her regular meals and just walking for a few days, starting with just 15 minutes. When she’s ready then she can join the local gym for different types of exercises programs. After just 1 week, she’s removed herself from her couch which was her sanctuary at home for many years. She’s already done one hour walking every single day. She’s even started a workout session in her local gym!

Sepomia is an excellent example that you don’t have to be the prisoner of “the way I’ve always been”. Indeed, you can change your life when you choose to. She had hardly done any physical exercises, apart from some housework, in the past. All she did was making up her mind after my encouragement that she always has the power to choose and to change! She’s regained the control of her life by choosing to change her diet and to move her body! We ask you to join us in having more energy and feeling happier!
