Dr Day Hong Ma (multi-talented and multi-languages)

I obtained my MBBS from University of Adelaide in South Australia. Since graduation I obtained 2 fellowships in General practice in Australia. ( FRACGP and FACRRM ). I also obtained 2 fellowships in Surgery from Edinborough and London.

Since I returned from UK I have been practicing as a GP and specialist general surgeon until 2008 for a period about 30 years. During that time I was appointed as Visiting Specialist Surgeon by Queensland Health.

From then until now I am practicing as a GP in Day and Night Surgery, Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise. My service includes all aspects of general practice. In addition I have training and special interests in skin cancers and cosmetic medicine.

I hold a Masters degree in Skin Cancer Medicine from University of Queensland and a Diploma of Dermatoscopy from the International Dermoscopy Society. I perform skin cancer check with a Mol Max machine from which patients can see their own lesions on screen. This facilitates in explaining and educating patients re skin cancer awareness.

I also hold diplomas in training in the following

Dermopen which is a needle device for improvement of skin quality. It is painless because topical anaesthetics are used

  • Platlets Rich Plasma : another modality where patients’ own growth factors are used to enhance their skin qualities
  • Neuromodulators which are supplied by various suppliers from whom I am trained to use their products. They are in injectable form to address lines and wrinkles. They are very safe. In fact the neuromodulators are used widely in other aspects of medicine other than cosmetics.
  • Dermofillers: They replace volume loss and enhance tissues due to advancing maturity. Again various suppliers have their own products for which I was trained in the use of. The products I use are reversible and therefore safer
  • Chemical peels We use different types of chemical peels for various conditions such as acne vulgaris.
  • Photodynamic therapy : which is useful for treating photo damage skin as a prevention of developing skin cancers. It eliminates solar damage and even early skin cancers.

I also hold a license to operate Laser therapy. At this stage our practice has not yet equipped to provide this service.
